Gangsta Stylez

I spent several hours last night at the Student Association's 'Casino Royale' evening, held on campus, where it seemed half the student population showed up to gamble for a chance to take home a rather posh scooter, a couch, a bunch of food and wine baskets and yes, even a packet of instant noodles.

I dragged some of my 'mos along, and my token straight buddy Yannick, we dressed up a bit and mozied along at 7pm with our tickets, expecting maybe 20 people to show up. How wrong we were.

The evening was a great success, there were literally HUNDREDS of students there, all dressed to the nines and groomed to within an inch of their lives. The student Asssociation got in an actual casino company to decorate, set up and (wo)man the tables, there were more games laid out than I know the names of, they got in a professional piano player and staffed the bar with hotties.

I wasn't especially interested in actually playing anything, I was basically just there for the booze and the socialising, so I got my chips or tokens or whatever the hell they're called and divvied them up between my mates, and set off to work the room.

I caught up with a heaps of people I know and like, watched folks win terrifically and lose impressively, ate a crap-load of nibbles and got wasted on something called an 'Aston Martin' which as near as I can make out was almost entirely tequila. It was great! I also quite enjoyed giving my 'millions' away to all and sundry like I didn't give a damn, made me feel rich and powerful. Muahahahahahahaha!!

Oddly, when I was finally convinced to have a spin myself at the end of the night, I was pretty lucky. I shoulda maybe taken it seriously from the start, I coulda been rich for real!!

;)

  1. I love you Danny, but I don't thinking owning a scooter (how ever flash it is) makes you rich :P
